Another one on the road!! Alex passed her drivers test.

I took Ariel to the little carnival yesteray. She has so much fun at these but why do I always spend $40 when I dont even get on the rides! She won a little puppy dog. Now she can has one more animal to carry around. She already has kitty, horse and now dog. That is what she names them too. She is such a little character.

New Ideas for old stuff. I used my two favorite Heidi's products to cover up and old wooden box Kevin found. It was a dark forest green with ugly yellow sunflowers painted on it. But it was such a sturdy well made item I knew I would find a use for it. I painted it using Heidi Swapp's Sea acrylic paint. Then I used the new Heidi Grace papers and chipboard that I had previously posted about to cover the box and walah, a beautiful box to keep on my scrap table!

Holly is taking me to Red Lobster for mothers day. Kevin and I just got done planting some flowers. I was going to post a big picture of my new colorful front yard but we didnt get enough flowers!! So this will have to do.

Mega MeetWent to the Mega Meet on Friday. I was so looking forward to going. Saved for it, took a day off work, registered for classes etc.... I am not sure I had fun. Maybe I just expected too much. First off I had 3 basic gray classes. The description of them made it seem like they were all different. Like maybe one was 12x12 layouts and the other ones were some type of project. Well all three classes were 12x12 layouts. Not only that but they were ugly. I expected so much more from Basic Gray. They didnt use their cool new baby papers or embelishments. They were all dark and gloomy looking.

There didnt seem to be a lot of new product. I did find some Technique Tuesday stamps that I had been wanting but they werent new. They had a couple dollar spots which seems cool at first, then you see all the stuff you paid 4.99 and 6.99 for going for a dollar and it makes you think twice about impulse purchases in the future! One good thing I can say about the Mega Meet is that I have a lot of money left.

I have found some awesome things at the dollar store lately. In this picture is a 6x6 shadow box and some glass jars with wooden tops and a little wooden plaque right on the front. I have found some awesome scrapbooking items at Dollar tree lately. I cant wait until you see what I did with the jars. I will post the pic tonight. Heidi Grace has a set right now for sale for $14.99. Lets so how cute I can make my $1 ones look :) We will see if we can compare to Heidi Grace :) (I still love you Heidi Grace)

I just want to thank those who email me and help me in helping me in my journey to find Faith in God and Christ. I feel like I have come so far in just the last few months. Every bit of advice people give me helps me move along the path I am trying to go down.

As I understand more and more the things people have said make so much sense to me now. Its exciting when I have a realization of something and I remember someone telling me it would happen. I just get tears in my eyes.

I have such a long way to go before I can be a christian role model to others but I feel like the fog I was in is just drifting farther and farther away. I can see my problems with so much more clarity and less fear.

Funny thing. No one in my real life has helped me see things as clearly as my online friends. I have poured my heart out and gotten response here, on my blog and on my other sites. People have given me so much wisdom and courage. People I have not even met!

I know that if I surround myself with the words and kindness of all my friends and keep away from negative people and places I will continue to get stronger and stronger in my faith and my walk with God.

I've been robbed!! Of the month of April!! Where did it go? April flew past me so fast I accomplished nothing!! I did nothing for the good of the world in April. Easter weekend are the only days I even remember. Let's all pray that May does not pass me by!

I would like to have a moment of silence. For what? For my easter pictures that are ruined. I dont have 5 good pictures to show for easter or my trip to the zoo with my sister and my neices and nephews. I am so disgusted with myself. The little picture bar rolling under my post about that Saturday are the only things I have to show for it. I was going to erase those and use the "good pictures" as soon as I got them developed and online. But I cant do that becuase they all suck big rotten easter eggs. I can't even believe how badly these pictures are so screwed! How on earth did I do that. I just know my sil broke my camera somehow. I let her use it for a couple classes and it has not worked good since. Nothing worked. The flash didnt work, lighting is horrid. Everything is all shadowed up. Thank God this was not a paid shoot. I am dropping that baby off at the shop to be looked at tonight.

There is nothing more nerve wracking than taking photos of another photographer! I know this becuase I have done it and I was terrified they wouldnt like my photos or they wouldnt think they were as good as theirs LOL Well it's that time for us as a family to get our photos taken. I am inquiring now on dates and prices. I really want to get them done at the beach. That is my favorite place and everyone knows it. I am not telling them I am a photographer LOL That way maybe someone will do it.

I need to get this done as I have put off heart surgery for good. I will not have it done. There for I feel the need to get our photos taken in case something happens. That sounds morbid but I want my family to have these pictures. I am pretty picky as to the style. I think what I will do is form a file of photos that I love and give it to the photographer so they will know the kind of photos I want.

This gives me another reason to start eating good, keep exercising and losing weight. I dont want to have "fat" pictures I want "phat" pictures LOL

Look at this piece of perfection. Or should I say perfection with a piece taken out..... I am proud of this because I made it from scratch, for the first time. I LOVE pound cake and this is so good!!!!

As much as I love blogging I feel like if there are no new pictures, there is not reason to blog. I dont have much really interesting to those who dont know me going on. I guess I feel better if I can accent my thoughts with photos. I am officially on a spending freeze getting ready for the Mega Meet!!! We are also going to OKC in May so I should save some cash for that trip as well!!!

OK Don't faint. For everyone who thinks I am the perfect organized grandma guess what? We did not color any eggs. I had too much to do. We had all those colored plastic eggs and the longer I looked at them the more they looked good enough! We filled those with candy and marshmellows and hid them across the street and she took her little basket and found them all and was perfectly happy! So I was happy to have an easy to please grand child this year. Evan and Brenden recv'd their baskets and new clothes in the mail before easter. So I made dinner after Ariel found her basket and her eggs and that was that for the day! No big productions and no company this year. It was peaceful!! I did go to the zoo with Shelly and the kids on Saturday! Here are the photos from that:

Wild, wet morning at our house
I was fed up with being woke up late at night. The boys once again came in after midnight making noise and banging pots and pans cooking! I have asked them several times to be quiet, I have to get up and go to work at 6 a.m. It's like they have no consideration. Well this morning I got up, turned on all the lights and the tv and dumped a bucket of water on their heads and yelled at them to get up! I was very angry last night and this morning. Just seeing them all warm and snuggly in their beds sleeping so soundly loses its appeal after they turn 20. It made me even madder to see them so sound asleep. Well I took care of that. Now I can see the humor in it. You should have seen their faces. Kevin couldnt believe I did that. It's shame I had to take such drastic measures to get some respect! But actually, for me it was probably the best thing I could have done because I have been giggling about it all morning :)

Sometimes when things get me down I take time to just sit and stare at my babies and think of all the blessings I do have and not dwell on the ones I dont.

Paper or Pixel?


I see so many people doing digital layouts instead of paper. Quesion for digital layout people: How do you present them? Do you just have them online and hope people remember the links? do you put them on CD? How are you going to hand them down? do you print them and put them in albums? If the real reason we are scrapping is to preserve our family memories what will you do if the computer crashes?

More than a Picasso?

For paper scappers; Lets talk about supplies. I am over supplied. I have about $10,000 worth of scrapbooking supplies to make $2 worth of layouts a week. Why must we hoard scrap supplies like the 5000 manufacturers are going to stop making new stuff? We have to make a commitment to use our supplies and not just look at them. For every trip to the LSS we need to make a layout. I have about 25 good layouts so far in life. That means I have $400 worth of supplies for each layout. Thats more than a picasso.

Kevin bought my an awesome scanner and printer. I love it. It is an Epson CX7800 :) Sounds like a car! Here are my first 2 scanned pics!
